This dissertation aims at an analysis of schematisation Polish social reality presented in a television serial 'M jak Milosc'. Formulated hypothesis sounds: the image of world presented in 'M jak Milosc' meets social demand of building the myth. This soap opera reflects norms and values recognised by spectacors as important and socially propagated. The analysis was carried out on episodes from 2008 to 2010. Selecting the sample group was intentional. The results of research confirmed the formulated hypothesis. 'M jak Milosc' reflects social myths and stereotypes. The Mostowiak family fulfil idea of typical Polish family - multigenerational and based of kinship. The wide range of positive values is determined by love, care, protection and safety. An adultery, threat, untruth and jelaousy have negative appreciation. This soap opera has socialisational and educational possibilities. It also mainstains and promotes traditional values. 'M jak Milosc' presents dichotomous behaviours: some of them are right, the other are wrong. The right behaviour is rewarded and wrong way of life is chastened. 'M jak Milosc' has a plot adaptable for a lot of receivers what means that this television serial fulfils the soap opera requirements.
