The work deals with the situation of the Jewish community in the Ostroleka synagogue district based on the 'Book of Marriages' kept in the Kurpie Culture Museum in Ostroleka, which contains the records of 156 weddings contracted by Jews before magistrates from the years 1830-1843. In the first part of the work the author reviews various aspects of life of the Jewish community, such as the time of contracting marriages, internal migrations of the Jewish populations, the trades practices, and social advancement. The second part contains a tabulated list of all the 156 marriages, which provides the dates of the marriages, full names, age, place of birth, place of residence and trade or profession of the newlyweds. The list also contains some data regarding the parents of the bride and groom: names of fathers (sometimes grandfathers), and their occupation.
