The article is dealing with the issues of the law of freedom of movement. It presents the current state of affairs in Community law in general, and with regard to the Directive 2004/83 (the newest act in the field) in particular. The article is also discussing the notion of 'the member of the family moving within the Community' and the legal framework of this notion. Finally, the current problems with regard to the coverage and the range of laws and duties that the law of the freedom of movement consists of are discussed. The compatibility with other Community regulations on the subject is examined. There is a number of problems arising, also with the relation to the level of social security entitlements of the persons moving within the community.
