Migration, as a phenomenon analyzed mostly from the macroeconomic, sociological and legal perspective has also specific psychological aspects. To describe the migrant's coping strategies while encountering culture differences, some theoretical models are presented (Culture Shock Model according to Kalvaro Oberg, and three Culture Differences Models: according to Geert Hofstede, John Mole and Richard Gesteland), followed by some practical conclusions, deriving also from the author's experience as a psychologist counseling migrants.
