The article is focused on several aspects of the Polish Catholic church policy towards Jews, such as legislation, conversions, economic relations, as well as one aspect of Jewish - Christian relations, such as blood libel accusations. Jews played an important role in the policy of the Church at the beginning of the 18th century, although it was not a consistent or planned policy led by an archbishop or involving the clergy at large. Individual bishops took certain actions that in the main stemmed from their personal views.
