Pace and range of structural transformations in agriculture and rural areas, will be dependent on utilization by farmers of chances which emerge from Poland's in the EU. In this context most important is recognition of factors which determine their activity within the scope of absorption of the European Union funds designed to development of agriculture and rural areas. The subject of the analysis undertaken in this article is qualification of the dependence between absorption of this type of funds by farmers and their demographic and psychosocial features. They are features which define the quality of human capital in agriculture. The results of the research confirmed the authors' conjectures that these features indeed determine the activity and effectiveness of farmers in raising the EU financial resources of UE for developmental purposes.
