Texts on fashion expose selected parts of feminine body. The ideal body consists of parts that fit together and that acquire certain aesthetic qualities. The ideal becomes a pattern to distinguish figures which are not ideal. Articles about fashion advise on how to get closer to the ideal. Changes in textile fashion may cause changes in the present views on the ideal of beauty, which can be seen in time. The new pattern is so manipulated that the changes can't be missed.
