The World War One created political circumstances for rebirth of independent Poland in 1918. The outbreak of war posed a difficult question of Poland's future to Russia. In this situation pro-Polish attitudes in Russia were born in the years 1914 and 1915, what was reflected in contemporary Russian writings and poetry. Russian poets wrote then about their family ties with Poland (M. Moravskaya, A. Gorodetskaya, M. Tsvetaeva), about her wartime suffering (S. Kopytkin, A. Korinfsky), urged the Poles to common struggle against Germans (V. Briusov, N. Agnivtsev, K. Balmont and others), expressed hope that new Poland will be reborn. In this article some unknown and forgotten poems on Poland have been reminded. They were not published since World War One and they were never translated into Polish.
