The main objective of this article is to define the significance of macrologistics and show its role as a growth factor in orthodox (conventional) economic theories. The author starts with explaining the essence of macrologistics, showing its components and place in economy. In order to explain the ever-growing role of macrologistics, the author uses theories and concepts typical of mainstream economics, in which development means the possibility of satisfying individual and collective material needs with wealth quantifiable exclusively in market terms, and in which development is chiefly analysed in the light of those changes which are seen as positive from the point of view of an egocentric value system.
