A subject under consideration are aspirations, which are undeniably one of the crucial determinants of social activity undertaken by youth. What impels young people to either leave or stay in their own country are just aspirations. This study includes the data from the research carried out by the author in 2008 which proved that the more precise youth specify their aspirations, the more aware they become of their own potential thus being able to look for development possibilities more effectively and efficiently. A change in the perception of the relation: man - world - culture, creates new opportunities of self-realization, makes young people focus more on individualism and life satisfaction improvement, and extends a range of interpersonal relations, which, in consequence, inl uences the intensification of migration aspirations. It results, among other things, from economic transformations, the increase of standard of living as compared to previous years, as well as a continuing level of unemployment.
