Příspěvek se obrací k historii naší filosofie v meziválečném období, které můžeme vnímat jako jednu z velmi zajímavých a i pro současnost v mnohém inspirujících etap. V rámci tohoto historiografického ponoru se text zaměřuje se na otázku, jaké místo v dobovém teoretickém diskursu zaujala reflexe přírodovědné problematiky. V souvislosti s podobou dobových polemik a sporů o žádoucí charakter dalšího rozvoje filosofie v samostatném státě šlo o jedno z významných témat. Současně můžeme tuto tematickou oblast považovat i za jednu z cest rozvíjení vazeb naší filosofické tvorby na zahraniční inspirační zdroje. Celkově představovala filosofie velmi podnětnou oblast naší duchovní kultury meziválečného období. Přispěla k utváření demokratického charakteru našeho nově vzniklého samostatného státu.

This article takes as its subject-matter the history of our philosophy in the inter-war period, which can be seen as one of the very interesting and, for contemporary times, in many ways inspiring periods. In the framework of this historiographical investigation, the text focuses on the question of the place of reflection on the problematic of natural science in theoretical discourse of the time. In connection with the form of the polemics of the time, and the controversies on the desired character of the further development of philosophy in an independent state, it was one of the most significant themes. We may, at the same time, consider this thematic area as one of the ways in which our philosophical creativity drew on international sources of inspiration. Overall, philosophy presented a very stimulating area of our higher culture in the inter-war period. It contributed to the creation of the democratic character of our newly-born independent state.
