God's loving mercy upon man was completed in the Mystery of Redemption which took place on the cross. The Holy Mass, whenever held, is a sacrament in which Jesus' sacrifice is manifested. The bloodless act of sacrifice reflects the death of Christ, which, out of God's infinite mercy, gained the redemptive dimension. The truth of loving mercy as a part of the two events above inspired Blessed Rev. Michal Sopocko's views on the Eucharist. He looks at it as a sacrifice of love and mercy. The author bases his analysis on reflections on: 1. Jesus' sacrifice on the cross which, as an actual event, preceded the Eucharist as a bloodless, however, also real sacrifice; 2. This provokes a reflection on the manifestation of the crucifixion in the Eucharist.
