Price's scientometric ideas started a new style in science of science research. He uncovered laws and regularities od science development that for many times proved to be right in research of scholars from all over the world. But 40 years before Price published his fundamental writings, Florian Znaniecki and, ten years later, Maria and Stanislaw Ossowski presented similar views on science. They formulated programme of science of science research and postulated the use of new research methods more exact than before. This coherence of thoughts of the Polish scholars and those of Price reveal many similar ideas as regards basic problems of science of science. The analysis of certain elements of scientific life in Poland (some of them studied over time span from 200 to 400 years) confirm Price's views and prove that general regularities derived from the analysis of global science development are also valid in the realm of Polish science
