The paper presents S. Lem's views on science and scientists. The authoress reconstructs them from analyses of fiction and essays concerning these subjects, e.g. 'Astronauci', 'Glos Pana', 'Summa technologiae', 'Okamgnienie' and 'Bomba megabitowa'. Three main stages of views' evolution are singled out. The episode of Lem's life is recalled when he mets with science of science: he took part in Science of Science Seminar, created by Mieczyslaw Choynowski at the Jagellonian University.
