The article is based on the results of the PROFIT project collected during research conducted in United Kingdom by the research team from Loughborough University. It summarizes main findings from all qualitative research stages: interviews with parliamentary politicians, who are in charge of creation and implementation of social policy; group interviews with local stakeholders who are responsible for the social affairs in towns under study and in-depth interviews with young adults who are end-users of the social policy. The authors also make an attempt to present some recommendations for policy makers, based on the research outcomes.
