The article explores the reign of Duke Henry of Jawor (1312–1346), focusing on the interplay between ducal authority and urban centers in his duchy. By analyzing Henry’s itinerary and relationships with townspeople, it reveals Lwówek as his primary residence and favored city, challenging the traditional view of Jawor as his main seat. The study also highlights how proximity to the duke’s court facilitated social mobility for burghers.
