The paper gives a professional profile of Prof. Jerzy Tulecki, and especially the last forty of his over ninety-years- long life, basing on the author's own reminiscences, as well as on data contained in the biographical writings. Over that period, i.e. since the 1960's, he was actively involved in teaching activities at the Pharmaceutical Faculty of the Medical School in Poznan, where he was, among other things, deputy dean of the faculty with responsibilities for student affairs, and where he excelled in his capacity as supervisor of many M.Sc. theses and Ph.D. dissertations in the field of pharmaceutics. He also had a major standing as a researcher, being the author of numerous scientific publications and patents, as well as cooperating with the pharmaceutical industry. At the same time, Jerzy Tulecki, a person of great energy, was an activist of the Polish Pharmaceutical Society, holding the posts of the Head of the Poznań Branch of the Society, as well as a member of its national board. He was responsible for many initiatives relating to the statutory activities of the Society, and was engaged in many forms of organizing the research and professional life of Polish pharmacists in the second half of the 20th century.
