In the article the names of mountains from the region of the Western Bieszczady Mountains are discussed. Of the 244 names collected in this compilation, 149 were analyzed. Their origin was researched, as well as their onomastic motivation, which allowed the oronyms to be divided into appropriate groups according to the genetic-functional classification of H. Borek. The linguistic bases of the mountain names studied are most often appellatives from Ukrainian dialects - Bojko and their neighbors (Hutsul and Lemko) - and also proper names: anthroponyms, hydronyms and toponyms (names of other nearby objects). Among the appellatives, topographic designations predominate, while others are connected with human activities (cultural names). Rare in the Bieszczady are mountain names with metaphoric, situational or commemorative motivation.
