In this paper, there has been presented the structure, functioning and operation principles of agricultural extension in Canada. According to the investigations the counseling is of a decentralized character, without a uniform structural system on the territory of the country. The rules governing agricultural extension vary somewhat from district to district. The idea of counseling involves developing counseling programs which are further implemented by the local governments together with public and private organizations which are involved in counseling and supporting the development of agriculture and rural areas.
