A large collection of such publications which were used as source material for this article can be found in the Special Collections section of the Public Library at Kielce. The bound volumes came from home libraries of the local landowning gentry. The article reviews the profile of individual periodicals and assess their quality in the context of developments and trends set by the works of renowned Polish and foreign authors (from down-to-earth manuals to more general treatises).
