The article discusses the question of mutual reltions of the Czech and Austrian nobility elite under the rule of Przemysl Ottokar II (1251/1253 - 1276/1278) from the perspective of the possibility of integrating both parts of the Przemyslid domain. Analyzing the mixed marriages (with its dominating tendency for marriages of Czech lords with Austrian ladies), the author stresses the point that they were usually arranged between families living in the borderland areas. There was hardly any intervention of the royal court. Austrian lords are seldom seen in the royal documents issued in Bohemia. The king did not have a systematic policy of land grants which could serve integration. In such situation it is hard to understand how the King of Bohemia imagined the continuation of the rule of his dynasty in the Danubian countries. It is especially clearly seen by contrast with the thoughtful policy of the next ruler of Austria, Rudolf Habsburg.
