ADVISORY SERVICES RENDERED WITHIN THE PROJECT OF DEVELOPING PRIVATE DAIRY FARMS

The task of agricultural advisers is to help farmers adjust to new economic conditions. The article presents actions launched by agricultural advisers within the Project of Developing Private Dairy Farms, which was implemented on the territory of the commune Turosl in 1990-1997. The author writes about the beginnings of this initiative and presents the objectives and individual stages of the project's implementation. He emphasizes the role played by the Project's advisers in introduction of new technologies in dairy farms and modernization of these farms. He also describes the most important changes that occurred in the organization and operation of dairy farms, drawing attention to the transfer of innovative solutions from farms which participated in the project to other dairy farms.The author presents also the opinions of farmers participating in the programme about the work of the Project's advisers.
