AMarian Prusek was a young fighter for the Polish Home Army and after the end of German occupation found himself hunted by the Communist Polish Security (UB). Realizing that he is being chased, he decided to flee to the American controlled part of Germany and then to Britain. Disappointed by life in Britain, emigrated to US where in return for military service he obtained a visa and the flight ticket. He served for two years in the US Marines and today is a known ethnic activist in Chicago. He is the only Pole among founders of the Committee of building the Monument of the WWII in Washington.
