This paper presents the concept of intelligence-related personality traits. According to the theory, there are four dimensions, namely Intellectual Absorprion, Apathy, Pleasure and Pragmatism on which people differ. Mayer and co. (1989) describe them as follows. Intellectual Absorption refer to an ability to become involved and caught-up with the intellectual process, along with, so called, flow experiences. Intellectual Absorption, describes a feeling that intellectual thought is distasteful, uninvolving, and difficult. Intellectual Pleasure, describes a more pleasurable approach to thinking in which it is also viewed as important, but lacking in flow quality. Intellectual Pragmatism, describes an attitude in which intellectual efforts are made only when it is necezzary. Further, the concept of intelligence-related personality traits is critically discucced. To better understand the construct, the phenomenological approach is proposed. In the end, psychological and educational implications are presented.
