The article presents fragment of the survey conducted by the Author in cooperative banks in Poland in June and July 2010. It was one of the survey's aims to gain information on how cooperative banks perceive business environment significance for their development ability. Based on the results of the survey the attempts were made in order to determine differences in the main aims of cooperative banks in stable and unstable business environment, differences in the main aims of Polish cooperative banks and local American commercial banks in stable business environment, and the evaluation of the financial crisis results for the development of cooperative banks and cooperative banking sector in Poland in general.
