The article presents the results of a national survey on attitudes of the young generation towards cultural, ethnic and racial diversity in Spain. It covers topics related to the youths' coexistence in secondary schools, including: their ability of cooperation with pupils from different ethnic or cultural backgrounds; approval of aggression; violence and victimization on racial and xenophobic grounds. As multiculturalism has become the major focus of the Spanish educational system, with an objective to reduce xenophobia and enhance mutual acceptance, the survey findings also provide information concerning the perception of preventive activities undertaken within its institutions, both on the part of the youths, as well as schoolteachers, and administrative officials.
