Among various characterizations of the category of strategy, rarely used in the context of school reality, the most promising seems to be defining it as an 'emerging' one. Because the student faces the necessity of dealing not only with certain permanent features characteristic of school reality, but also with countless unpredictable situations. Active quest for the ways of achieving one's aims (strategies), requires using one's knowledge of everyday life, general knowledge, as well as the skill in defining situations and adjusting one's actions to circumstances and other people's behavior. The way students use strategies, recognized by the researcher, can be thus used to answer a number of questions related to behavioral models, trained by students at school, as well as the way school reality functions.
