Gender identity is influenced by sociocultural background, e.g. family relations, explicit or implicit expectations in school or by youth subcultures. Q-study deals with the qualities and characteristics assigned by boys and girls aged between 12 and 15 years from Bratislava and from the town of Senec near Bratislava. We analyze them from the perspective of gender differentiation, gender characteristics and stereotypes, taking into consideration the impacts of the microsetting of the place of residence, parental models, intersexual communication and/or pubertal changes.
