The article opens the problem of influence of tourism on local traditional culture. Relevant information in the article is based on the Swiss experience, where tourism is quite developed. The article discusses the policy of tourism and some conceptions of tourism. To conclude, the question of the role of ethnology and etnologists in the process of opening the regions to tourism is being discussed.
