This article tries to reconstruct and analyze the economic concepts presented by Professors Krzyzanowski, Heydel and Zweig concerning the role of the state in economy, in particular widely propagated the programme of overcoming etatism. The thesis is that the governments of The Second Polish Republic received the assistance from the economists of Cracow School in the form of the list of recommendations for redevelopment of the state economic policy to solve the problem of etatism. To confirm this thesis the historical reconstruction method has been used. This work emphasizes the main assumption data regarding the antietatic programme prepared by the economists of the Cracow School. For a dozen or so years the Cracow economists, by presenting their ideas in press, have been trying to exert the influence on direction of economic policy. When the government began to distinguish dangers resulting from the exaggerated development of national management appointed by the state enterprise, the Cracow economists prepared the programme of overcoming the etatism. Some of their thesis have been accepted.
