Today's scope of research problems (sometimes of social character) conveys issues such as familisation and defamilisation of pro-family policy, faces of Polish poverty and related inclusive strategies, alternative forms of marriage and family, and mixed marriages of different cultural and ethnic origins. The increase in the number of families of mono-parental character as a peculiar indication of progressing deinstitutionalisation, desacralisation and detraditionalisation of family is yet another result of transformation, observed by contemporary Polish researchers. On the other hand, we have the issue of disadaptation of families and their marginalisation, and hence native problems of social exclusion of individuals and families of the Polish underclass, as well as employed preventive strategies and social work with such families. One must also credit research into the quality of living of socially and professionally diversified families. These studies form a new research area, which is parallel to deliberations on families' styles of living. It is worth pointing out a new dimension of family sociology, i.e., the problems of social policy in relation to family. The listed scope of issues is discussed in the article.
