This is an attempted comment to a recently released book titled 'Nowoczesnosc jako doswiadczenie' (Modernity as an Experience) that embarks on reactivating and thoroughly analysing the notions of modernity and experience. A collection of individual records of experience explains the career record of both terms in our time and moreover discovers to the reader, through a multiplicity of cognitive perspectives, the complex rules organising the life in a modern (and, post-modern) socio-cultural universe. The book in question is found to be a successful attempt at indicating a way out for the humanities of their 'cul-de-sac'.
