An article that considers the meaning and context of an early piece of writing by Jan Grossman, 'Realismus integralny' (Rad, 1943) through the actualization of a critical profile of the periodical 'Rad' (edited by Jaroslav Cervinka and Jaroslav Morak), recalling earlier writing by Grossman (the debate with Jiri Karen in the periodical 'Jitro', 1942) and also considering the reception at the time of the ideas of Maurice Blondel. The article is dedicated to Miroslav Cervenka, who supervised the author's dissertation 'Jan Grossman: A Biography of Thinking (1942-48)'.
