The author introduces the Hungarian Current Research Information System as it has been realized by the National Technical Information Centre and Library at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. It presents earlier implementations of research registries and new governmental regulations. It gives details of the database structure, the methodology of data gathering, the workflow of data processing, the main features of information services and the results. Finally, it outlines the development plans for the next phase.
