The article is a Polish translation of the last chapter of Ivan A. Il'in's famous commentary 'The Philosophy of Hegel as a Doctrine of the Concretness of God and Man' (published in Russian in 1918), entitled '‘The Crisis of Hegel's Theodicy'. Il'in claims that Hegel's project of 'theodicy as a form of pantheism' cannot be completed. Pantheism needs to demonstrate that everything is necessarily connected with God's essence. The existence of the independent other-being and the evil means that either pantheism is false, or God is bad. To avoid the latter, Hegel was forced to abandon the idea of pantheism. Il'in concludes that Hegel's system was ultimately a failure, which nevertheless indirectly shows the truth about tragedy of the suffering God.
