The paper describes situation in Polish enterprises in 2006. Consequences of macroeconomic recovery are discussed as well as factors influencing enterprises' behaviour. Benefits from the EU membership, growth and structural change in export performance, change in import intensity, growing propensity to invest and improvement of labour market behaviour are presented. Certain weaknesses of enterprises situation like slow growth of high technologies, slowdown of privatization process and worse performance of SME versus large companies are identified.
