The transformation occurring in the marine environment of the security, force to redefine the role and rules of engagement of the assigned forces of the navy in combating terrorist threats. In accordance with the applicable legal provisions, there is the possibility of using a military component in combating terrorism on the Polish sea areas. Procedure M-RENEGADE aims to simplify and standardize the action of all the forces and resources assigned by the armed forces of the Republic of Poland to combat acts of terror at sea. The main purpose of the article is to present the role and place of the Polish Navy resulting from the assumptions of M-RENEGADE procedure which is the implementation of the regulation of the Council of Ministers of 9 August 2010.
