The presented article is focused on the issue of protection against discrimination in employment relationships with regard to body modifications, mainly tattoos. The article deals with the need for a new discriminatory ground in the case of a person who has been the victim of discrimination due to his/her tattoo. Furthermore, the author analyzes the position of employees with tattoos in both the Slovak and European contexts, as this issue is not yet clearly regulated in any legislation. The authors are of the opinion that discrimination on the grounds of body modifications is not permissible. However, the current legal standards are only partially sufficient to protect employees against such type of discrimination compared to Norwegian legal standards.
