The article analyses relations between beauty and evil (interpreted as an absence of good). According to tradition initiated by Plato, beauty is a form of good, accessible by senses and one of its shapes. However, observation of the world makes us suspect Plato's triad and ask a question: may beauty be contaminated by evil, if they accompany each other so often? Four areas of beauty and evil compenetration are distinguished: chaos (bound up with a natural world), weakness (bound up with a personal world), aestheticism (bound up with a social world) and aesthetisation (bound up with a commercial world).
