During the last 10 years a global expansion of Chinese companies has been accelerated both by foreign direct investments and acquisitions. The aim of that expansion is to support exports and open up new markets, as well as to establish local sales and distribution networks and secure access to raw materials and advanced technologies. By the end of 2004, 15 Chinese companies were included into the list 'Fortune Global 500' of American magazine 'Fortune'. State ownership of many of them and lack of experience in capital expansion on the global market may post some barriers in their further internationalization.
