The article tackles the problem of Holocaust economics. The Treblinka II death camp served to murder the victims, but also produced material benefits to the SS officers and guards working there, the inhabitants of the area and immigrant population as well as the Treasury of the Third Reich. The problem connected with the tangible benefits derived from the camp did not disappear once the camp was destroyed. In fact, it continued for many years after the war. The abandoned land on which the camp stood was dug over again and again by treasure hunters, which is confirmed by reports compiled by a number of commissions that visited the site to get acquainted with the situation there.
