The presented article is an attempt to introduce a system of bank's risk management in the aspect of self-organization. It has been indicated that within Polish legislation banks are obligated to self-organize through the creation of statutory organs, organizational units and job positions, as well as through inner regulations of strategies, policies and procedures relating to the construction of risk management system depending on the size of a bank. The structure of the system has been presented and the risk management system has been defined, as the entirety of integrated ventures that aim to analyze risks, manage risks, and control these undertakings. Moreover, the dynamic characteristic of risk management system, as a self-organization process, has been demonstrated. As a result of comparison between system traits in system theory and the traits of risk management system it has been concluded that in Poland, in accordance to the law, inner environment of the bank is strictly integrated with its outer environment. Furthermore risk management systems, their elements and correlations display forms and functions analogous to social system parameters as described by Niklas Luhmann and Avenir Ujomow.
