The Lvov Journalist Syndicate was a professional organisation which, while financially troubled and torn by internal conflicts, rendered considerable services to the journalist community in the city of Lvov and the Lvov, Stanislawowskie and Tarnopolskie Voivodeships. In 1935-1939 its main achievements included the operation of the Professional Council of the Lvov Journalist Syndicate, the Out-Of-Town Correspondents Club, support for journalist staff of the bankrupt 'Gazeta Poranna', and its contribution to the loosening of censorship in Lvov. It also exerted considerable influence on the operations of the Polish Journalists' Association (ZDRP), including the execution of a collective agreement between ZDRP and the Polish Union of Newspapers and Periodicals Editors (PZDWiCz). The Syndicate also successfully lobbied for alleviating the provisions of the 1938 Presidential Decree.
