Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) in sports aims to build and strengthen psychological flexibility among athletes, which, according to theory, can lead to improved performance and enhanced well-being. Research indicated that ACT can be effectively adapted for an internet-based, self-guided intervention format, providing an alternative and cost-effective approach to psychological support in sports. As a contextual approach, however, ACT requires practitioners to consider the contextual and developmental factors of athletes when utilising the approach in applied practice. This paper presents a novel, evidence-informed, internet-based, self-guided acceptance and commitment training (iACT) program for adolescent athletes aged 12 to 15, consisting of 8 modules that synthesise the current best practices among adolescents and athletes. The paper discusses the theoretical foundations and underlying model, as well as the program’s structure and content, which are shared on the Open Science Framework. Furthermore, authors discuss the strengths and limitations of the proposed intervention format and outline options for adapting or further extending the content of the iACT program. Lastly, authors discuss possible venues for following empirical research of its effectiveness, utilising single-case experimental design and controlled trial methodologies.
