The Vroom's - Yetton's model of decision-making participation is a topic of the article. The model is verified on the basis of research conducted among 272 police managers of the highest, middle and basic level. While analyzing 30 hypothetical decision-making problems, the questioned officers in more than 50% cases chose autocratic solutions, though only 36% of such decisions were assumed as efficient ones
