This study deals with the issues of manorial management, entrepreneurial activities of the nobility and solving of financial issues at a nobleman’s manor farm estate in the second half of the 18th century, shown on the example of Vincenc von Waldstein (1731–1797). It analyzes limits and possible changes in the manor farm estate management, shortcomings in business plans and their implementation, and it also strives to answer the question to which extent was the implementation of innovations complicated by unexpected external circumstances or personal traits of the owner of the manor.
