The present operations and prospects for development of Polish microenterprises in the EU countries are inextricably connected with Polish emigration of recent years. People who left their families, friends and acquaintances, often showed unusual courage and determination to reach their goals such as improving the conditions of life, developing career, gaining financial independence. The research done by the author between 2006 and 2008 is expected to verity - by means of panel discussions - to what extend the hopes and aspirations of Poles revealed by preliminary research have been fulfilled. In the years to came the author will follow the progress and barriers in the development of microenterprises in the countries were Poles emigrated in the first decade of XXI century.
