Cieľom prezentovanej štúdie bolo najmä uvedenie problematiky sebaoprávňovania do povedomia českej a slovenskej vedeckej spoločnosti, nakoľko bol doteraz tento fenomén v značnej miere skúmaný najmä v zahraničí. Text sa zameriava na východiskové teórie popisujúce podstatu, mechanizmus fungovania a formy sebaoprávňovania. Prezentovaná bola rôznorodosť oblastí skúmania tohto konštruktu s dôrazom na jeho väzbu na jedincovo self. V závere boli navrhnuté ďalšie možnosti smerovania výskumu sebaoprávňovania.

Presented survey study provides the insight to the theory and research of self-licensing in order to acquaint Czech and Slovak academic society with this phenomenon mostly explored abroad. The article explains self-licensing within the framework of decision-making theories and self-regulation theories emphasizing the goal directed behavior aspect. The basis, mechanisms of functioning and different types of selflicensing were described, research areas as well. Author mostly emphasized the connection with one,s self and offered new possible directions in self-licensing research.
