We carried out a research in Czech scout groups in 2009 and we obtained rich linguistic material (1 000 nicknames). This paper discusses scout nicknames that have got inspired by animals. This type of scout nicknames is relatively frequent (18 %). We have tried to characterize them and show their diversity. The work was supported by the grant SW 2014-267402.
