'Skarbiec dla Dzieci', a journal edited by Karol Sienkiewicz and published in Pulawy in 1830, was the first attempt in Poland to develop a science journal for children. It provided materials for demonstration-based teaching and foreign language instruction. Purpose-written texts were published and illustrations were produced by a dedicated lithograph workshop at the Library Printing House in Pulawy.
